Stephen Lawhorn, M.D., Medical Director of Gastrocor

Dr. Stephen Lawhorn is a veteran board-certified gastrointestinal pathologist with almost two decades of experience. He received his M.D. from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Dr. Lawhorn completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he later served as Medical Director of the Histopathology Section.

Dr. Lawhorn’s experience prior to joining Gastrocor includes an internship at Tripler Army Medical Center, 4 years with Walter Reed Army Medical Center and 13 years with LabCorp Systems/DIANON™, where his focus was in the field of gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Lawhorn’s professional affiliations include Diplomat of The American Board of Pathology, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Combined Examination and Diplomat of The National Board of Medical Examiners (Parts I, II, III).
